Is Life a Beeeeeeach?
Is life treating you kindly?
When the holidays are looming, what is your favourite destination?
Are you just waiting to get out of the concrete jungle, leave work and the traffic, the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and hit the dirt road, find open spaces, breathe in clean air and do some game spotting?
Or would you prefer to find the tranquillity of the beach, clean air, seawater, waves, sun and sand?
For one I think it goes with personality - do you enjoy the quietness of the bush, travelling slowly by car for hours and spending the day amongst nature, keeping your eyes peeled for game spotting.
Or would you prefer to spend the day outdoors, wiggle your toes in the sea and the sand, possibly spend hours reading, or building sand castles with your children and cooling off in the sea when the need arises?
Are you a more active or sedentary person? Where did you go on holiday when you were growing up? And which is your preferred holiday of choice? Have you ever wondered what your choices are based on?
Coming from the cooler climates of Europe, my family opted first and exclusively down to the beach. We spent days and weeks on the beach, with friends and family, playing on the shore and in the waves for extended periods of time. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that we were 5 children and travelling or spending the day in the car with a family of 7, with possibly the odd friends in tow, was not inviting to my parents at all. I have grown to love and cherish the peacefulness of the beach in the early morning. I respect the dynamic and powerful ocean and all the glories its waves and sea-life has to offer. I possibly associate the beach and the sea with holidays, rest, play, good times and being active and outdoors. That is just part of my personality.
How do you plan your holidays?
What is it that you search for in the times when you get to relax, let your guard down, get away from your everyday life?
What do you miss in your everyday life?
Which hobby have you neglected that there just never seems to be time for?
What have you always wanted to do and never got round to? (Be it a hobby, learning an instrument or a language or just travel to exotic places?)
If you had time and money on your hands right now, what would you do, where would you go?
Which skills or talents have you neglected in your busy work life that you would like to pursue?
Do any of the answers to these questions only apply to holidays, or should you strive to make more time for your talents, interests and explorations? Be pro-active, enrich your life, discover what it is you are yearning to learn or experience, what will make your life more fulfilled. Then take action, plan your ideal life and live it.
Find your passion, take action, live your dream and love your life.
