I am sitting here watching life pass me by. Paris - one of the busiest cities in the world.
I found myself a lovely little coffee shop, am sipping coffee and typing this blog.
Tour buses, people, more people hustling and bustling their way around. There are hundreds of people whose paths I am crossing by just watching and observing their movements. Some have maps, others are on their phones navigating their way around a city that is full of life and energy. Last time I was in Paris was a long time ago and things have changed, but the travellers themselves not so much.
Travellers are quite selfish, as it is really all about them and what is actually happening in their worlds. They pay no attention to anyone other than their immediate circle of friends and family. Almost selfishly pushing and shoving to get where they need and want to be. Don’t get me wrong this is what makes travelling and learning about people all so exciting. For anyone who has not yet left their own town or country, do yourself a favour: save up and get to see the world.
The experiences you gain from the melting pot of all the nationalities will open your eyes to so many new experiences, they are really endless.
You will understand that we are all so different, yet the same. For anyone who has travelled, you will definitely understand that statement. We have the same needs and wants and it is humbling to know that there are always people off worse than yourself and there are others that have more than what you have. Enjoy the differences between all, because that in itself is a lesson that cannot be bought or given to you.
I love the fact that I was given an opportunity to be in Paris for the Monaco Grand Prix- a gift from my wife for my 50th which I am feeling rather guilty about because my actual birthday is only in July. Nevertheless, I am here and loving my quiet time watching, learning and experiencing life. It is my time to reflect on my life going forward and to look deep into the direction I am wanting the next chapter of my life to head into.
I really do believe in milestones, because I have lived through a few of my own:
These were all major moments in my life which have had a huge impact on the way my life has evolved. For me, I am exactly where I want to be... in a coffee shop in Paris on a Monday afternoon typing a blog to all the wonderful clients that support me in all that I do.
Life is yours and I hope with this blog you find the courage to do what you need and want to do for all the right reasons. You are answerable to yourself to create and design a happy life. Circumstances may try and hold you back, but if there is something you really want, go right ahead and do it. Create your next milestone. Don’t walk on others to do it, but instead surround yourself with the right people who will cheer you on your way.
Try not to spend your whole life trying to please others, when it is really you who you need to worry about.
