It’s a Great Feeling!

Sometimes when I struggle to find the words to describe the feelings in my heart right now, I choose lyrics from songs to help with a bit of inspiration. There is a song by Jordan Sparkes called;

“One step at a time “, and the words from this which I feel have relevance to me at this very stage of my life are: “We live and we learn to take one step at a time, there’s no need to rush, it’s like learning to fly, or falling in love. It’s gonna happen when it’s supposed to happen and we find the reasons why one step at a time…”

Everything I’ve been through thus far has led me to where I am now. Being exactly where I’m meant to be in life at this very moment. I’m happy, excited, and it’s a great feeling!

During the past 5 years, and especially during the last year, I’ve been challenged in so many ways with work, love and so much more. I have learned that everything happens for a reason, and to be grateful for the mistakes or lessons learned from people who have come and gone in my life, as well as the good and bad experiences I have had to go through, as this has all helped me to be the person I am today.

5 years ago, I started at this incredible company. When I started, I had limited previous knowledge and experience, so didn’t know very much about Inbound Tour Operating within South and Southern Africa, yet this company saw something in me, and gave me a chance. Through challenging me, giving me the tools & training,  and with the knowledge, experience, and expertise of my colleagues, managers and life coach, I have learned so much during this time. They have all helped me progress from a Junior to Intermediate, and now Senior Consultant. I have grown so much here, and this is one of the things which make it the hardest thing for me to say “goodbye”. To say Farewell to this amazing family and wonderful workplace I’ve known for so long. A place where it wasn’t just a job for me. It was a place I looked forward to coming to every day. It was the people, and A& K was truly a place which had become my home.  But now it’s time for me to start on a new chapter in my life in a different company, where new challenges and opportunities await.

It is very sad to leave a place like this, but after long discussions with my managers, their input, advice, and to have their encouragement, blessings and support , as well as that of my team, colleagues, and friends, whom I have had the honour of working with, means so much to me. Leaving on good terms, and not bad, this is a great feeling, and so I end this by saying “ Gonna chase my dreams and catch up to them!! “
