It’s OK, I’m OK

Finding and developing oneself is difficult for many of us. One key thing to keep in mind is that so many people fall into this same boat and do succeed in getting out. We have to remember that we can do anything we set our minds on and that there is always support. From a personal side, I battled at school with identifying myself and what I wanted to do with my life. Moving into studying, I went to university and this truly was amazing. I made friends with incredible people, and I chose a degree in which I had a complete love for and enjoyed every day.

When it came to starting my career once I had graduated, I was employed by a company which specialises in what I had studied. Everything was falling into place perfectly! Little did I know that a huge change was on its way which has really affected me over the last few years. I had a big health scare and I had to have a massive operation. It tore me straight out of exactly where I was and where I wanted to be in life. It threw me into a place that has caused complete mayhem for me over the last few years.

Since then, I have battled to hold down jobs and my confidence has been decreasing. However, I have now decided that it is time to start taking control and be in charge of my life once again.

I have it set in my mind that I am going to start my own, successful business. It has been brewing for a few years, but I have never taken proper steps to launch it. I have now embraced it with both hands and I have been receiving assistance from so many people. The harder you work, the closer you get to achieving your goals and you feel amazing. This begins the cycle again and you end up setting and achieving more and more goals for yourself.

I have found that having a basic understanding of what I want has been important. You need to have an overreaching idea/s. However, these ideas cannot be set in stone, as over time they are likely to change. Start off with small goals and small steps. Sit and have meetings, catch up sessions and conversations with people. New ideas, developing and building on old ideas will begin to happen and things will quickly progress. It’s all about making the decision to start something and going at it head on!

Remember people are always going to be there to offer their support. They want you to achieve and become successful. Don’t be shy to accept help. Take it with open arms and work together with them. They gain so much happiness by seeing you succeed and this means more to them than anything else.

I am making my way out the boat. Even though I feel that there is a long way to go, I have started my journey and it feels amazing. Who knows, things happen for reasons all the time!
