Good Orderly Direction - G.O.D.

I have never had a relationship with an All-Powerful Being who is in control of life. I have often thought long and hard about the concept, but have never had any sort of solid belief or faith to speak of. Life happened and one could say that I believed that I was my own God as I fought extremely hard to be in control and to control every aspect of my life. When religion/God was mentioned, I instantly felt very uncomfortable and angry. Uncomfortable because I constantly felt judged and angry because what sort of loving God would allow abuse, rape, murder, disease etc? An All-Powerful being or a God simply did not exist to me.

I had the opportunity to revisit the idea of a God when I found myself at a rehabilitation centre late last year. It was suggested that we find a Higher Power and ask our Higher Power to take control over our lives. Now, no one checks into rehab because they won the universal happiness award and so I was not in a good space. I was spiritually dead and had no will to live anymore. I tried to play God and take my life but I was kept alive for some reason. What did I have to lose? I was at T-junction, I could turn one way and continue trying to understand life the way I had been for 29 years or I could open my sick and stubborn mind to the idea of an All-Powerful Being. I wanted to achieve something greater than happiness or unhappiness, I wanted to create a life of meaning, love and kindness.

I want to share some of my journey with you and I hope that what I say resonates with someone; I hope I am able to shine my light of awareness and gratitude over yours. I also hope that you are able to experience a divine encounter with God just as I have. I challenge you to put your EGO (easing God out) aside and open your mind to endless possibilities.

Have a look outside, what do you see? Look at nature and see the order all around you. The way that I have come to see the world is that everything has Good Orderly Direction. There is good orderly direction around all of us! We are all part of this good orderly direction and as soon as I realised this, I found my place in this temporary and ever-changing world. It gave me the most incredible sense of peace, serenity and understanding. I am finally able to see the self-sabotage that was my life to finding my place in the world through self-love. Everything is as it should be!

Look at an atom, the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist. There is perfect order within an atom… you have the nucleus and in the nucleus you the exact number of Neutrons and Protons to balance the atom. Around the atom, you have electrons that orbit the atom. The perfect balance of electrons to keep the atom balanced and neutral. If we go bigger than this, atoms put together give us our elements. An element is composed of atoms that have the same atomic number and everything on our planet is made up of our 118 elements, either on their own or in a combination thereof. Here we see Good Orderly Direction and everything is as it should be.

Let us have a look at cells, the smallest parts of all living organisms. A cell has good orderly direction; all the organelles within the cell work together keep itself alive and multiply for the bigger good. The bigger good can be seen in the tissues that these cells make up. Tissues form systems and systems form organisms. Let me use a tree to explain my point; a tree is an organism made of systems, tissues and cells. Leaf cells have organelles adapted to, suited for and arranged to allow the process of photosynthesis to occur. They contain chloroplasts, a plastid within the leaf cells where photosynthesis takes place. Plants seek to thrive all the time, their roots fight through concrete if need be to find the water and minerals needed to survive and their branches always grow so as to touch the sunshine. In trees, the structural and behavioural adaptations and instincts to thrive and flourish are phenomenal.

The same can be said about animals, I encourage you to take time out of your day and watch an animal. Let’s use a bird for example... It's only desire and mission is to flourish. The pigeon is so connected to God and lives purely in the now, doing whatever it takes to flourish now. The pigeon does not live in a mind dominance world, he lives his life in the here and now. The present moment is the only time that matters to the bird. If we could ask the tree or the bird what the time is, I am pretty sure they would think you are crazy to ask such a silly question and that both would reply, “The time is NOW… what else could the time possibly be?” There is Good Orderly Direction in all of creation as creation is so connected to God in the Now.

Love, joy and peace cannot flourish until we have freed ourselves from mind dominance. It wasn’t through thinking, that the miracle, that is life on Earth, or your body, was created and is being sustained. Calm your mind and connect to the present moment, it’s all we ever truly have. Once I connected to my God and started to understand that the same God that created the galaxies… created me, I finally opened my eyes and all was beautiful. It’s never too late to be what you might have been, in each moment, do the next right thing in order to flourish!

The river of life is big and real and always moving, the only thing you can control is your direction in the stream. I definitely recommend choosing good orderly direction and going with the flow. Trust that everything is flowing perfectly and as you relax and find ease in your attitude of trust and gratefulness, knowing that well-being is your birthright, amazing things will happen, things the likes of which you have not seen before.
